Dordogne region. East of the city of Bordeaux you will find spectacular views of rare and unspoiled landscapes, full of hilly surroundings and wonderful sparkling brooks. This is the region of the Dordogne and Vézère valleys. A truly beautiful region, with farmhouses spread along the valleys and little medieval towns situated against the surrounding hill slopes. The Fairy-tale castles complete the exquisite beauty of the region.

The nearby rivers Dordogne and Vézère offer swimming, fishing canoeing and kayaking. The medieval town of Sarlat (30 kilometres) is definitely worth a visit. Perigueux (40 km) is the capital city of the Perigord, and is also worth including on your itinerary. This city not only has narrow little streets paved with cobblestones, but also modern boutiques and wonderful restaurants. Of course you will just have to visit at least one of the many interesting caves where our forefathers lived. The region is the area where archaeologists discovered the sites of the “Cro-Magnon” people who resided here 30.000 years ago!

Le Cause is an ancient and authentic hamlet, (5 houses). It is situated in the middle of this beautiful region and is part of the community of Savignac de Miremont. At a distance of only 4,5 kilometres lies the town of Le Bugue, a bustling regional centre full of little shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Market day in Le Bugue is on Tuesday, where the typical regional products of the Perigord are on display. Just outside our front door you will find the start of one of the many walking and mountain-biking tours. Quite near by you can also go horseback riding, or play golf.

Our house, called “La Causerie”, is a fully renovated farmhouse with a terrain of over 2 ha and consists of a separate holiday cottage for 5 persons maximum, and 3 guestrooms.
Our swimming pool, 6 x 12 meters, offers enjoyable swimming thanks to the salted water filtration system. Although the pool is secured, children remain the responsibility of their parents. It is not allowed for children to use the pool without supervision of a parent.

The Gîte. (holiday cottage) Has its own private entrance and a fully furnished terrace complete with barbecue on the inner-court of the main house, (the inner-court is divided so guests have their privacy). Inside there is a comfortable sitting area, with satellite television, DVD, and an open fireplace. Fully equipped semi-open kitchen with a gas cooker, electric oven, micro-wave, dishwasher, fridge and dining area. Shower with toilet, washbasin and washing machine. There are two bed-rooms on the first floor. One of the rooms has a double bed “relaxation” with electrical command (160 x 200) and the second bedroom has two single beds (90 x 190) with the possibility to place an additional bed which brings the capacity of the cottage to 5 persons. The price per week includes bed linen and towels, gas and electricity. Clean linen will be provided weekly.

Chambres d’hôtes.(bed & breakfast) Our 3 guestrooms are situated on the first floor of our house and each room has its own private shower and toilet. Each room has a small table with two chairs and you will find what you need to make a cup of coffee or tea.

Table d’hôtes.Why not join us for a delicious meal. We serve 3 to 4 times a weak a 4-course dinner with fresh local products of this region for € 22,- p.p. and a Bergerac/Pécharmant "appellation controlée" wine for € 12,- to € 16,- a bottle.
